Lavender and Russet - what a lovely color combination for jewelry!

photo_of_russet_and_lavender_square_tile_bracelet_1.JPG.jpg

Ok...this is my latest creation...a Lavender and Russet Square Tile Bracelet .

I love purple, but sometimes it seems overwhelming in a piece of jewelry, so discovering that russet would complement and tone down that purple was a real nice treat for me. As an artist I'm pretty familiar with most color combinations, but this is not one you see often. I'd love to say it was something I came up with, but the actuality is an even better story lol.

You see, there's a certain enhancing lubricant tv commercial that uses an opening flower to demonstrate the effectiveness of using this during certain special moments. That flower was colored in gorgeous purple and dusty rose tints and really grabbed my attention. I'm pretty sure that I was supposed to be more taken with the product than the imagery ... and I'm not sure what that says about me, but that's an artist for you ... we always jump to the eye candy first!

  1. Oooh how lovely. You are so right about the colour combination! (When can I buy from 1000 Markets? My sister's birthday is November - I hope it's all sorted for UK before then. Otherwise I shall have to buy from etsy!)
This is my second favourite of your jewellery.

  2. Thank you, Lizzie :) I sure hope they get it sorted by then too...I'd hate to think of you shopping anywhere else! (Ok...I'll bite...what is your first favorite?) :D

  3. Well then, it's the Ginseng Forest pendant. I just love the combination of form and colour. Don't know exactly why, but I do love it.

I also like the Hummingbird sculpture and your pendants - Heaven & Earth and The Raven Speaks. My son's favourite is the Frog sculpture pendant.
My favourite of your paintings are Desolation (because it has a lot of movement - which is a weird thing to say about a still figure. I don't know what I mean really but it tells a story and grabs the viewer's interest) I also love the painting of you on your Harley riding away from the magic castle. It's a happy painting.

  4. Thanks, Lizzie...I feel like I was fishing for compliments lol...not so, just was curious! But sooo fun to hear what others like about my work :)

I think the best things are the ones that 'speak' to you...it seems the Ginseng Forest is doing a little Lizzie Whispering :D

Thanks so much for all your kind words!

You are too funny. But you never know where inspiration comes from. I don't think I'll be able to watch that commercial with a straight face anymore.

  10. I still love the bracelet's colours.. and I still love the Ginseng Forest pendant. Is there a way I could buy it from you as 1000 Markets can't process UK payments yet? (I must tell them to get Paypal, then I can pay!) I just love that pendant. It's going to be my birthday and I want to ask my husband to "buy it" for me.
I have a $US bank account (in UK, set up to process hubbie's $US shares last year). Maybe I can use it to send money.
    Or something...
